Hi, thanks to your section I have learned so many different ways of dealing with my 3 year old daughter (August, 2005)
Just wanted to tell that you are doing a great job! It's time to get honest sex education out there! Carla Holeva, Planned Parenthood of West Texas (Odessa TX). I was glad to see your past connection with PP. Keep up the good work. (February, 2002)
I think what you do is wonderful, and I am glad that the Internet has opened up opportunities for sites like yours that help educate people. Not everyone was as fortunate as I was to have a close and open relationship with their parents. Today there are so many issues for kids and their folks, and I think your site is a blessing to both sides. It is a great place to go for advice, but reading it together is the perfect way to initiate that awkward discussion. Thank you for doing what you do. Keep up the wonderful work! (March 2001)
Dear Sex Ed. Mom-
A friend of mine with a diagnosed but untreated hormone imbalance recently started on Depo. I was wondering if this will be an effective contraceptive if her hormone levels are not what they should be. This is of especial interest to me as my own daughter is thinking about starting on the shot. (Should I recommend to her that she have her hormone levels checked first?) Thanks for you time, I love your column! :)

Hi. Let me start by saying this is a great site that you have!!! I am very thankful to have found it. (April 2000)
I don't have a question. I'm a sexually active teen. I wanted to let you know that I appreciate your section of thrive online. I use the internet and many other sources to make sure that I'm informed about sexual issues such as statistics, STDs and birth control. Your information has been helpful in the past and continues to be. I also would like to thank you for being an advocate for open communication about sex between teens and their parents.
Thanks again
